Why GreenAer

Why people don't buy the cheaper one.

There are cheaper e-bikes in Ireland. Most are made by sports brands, or shipped direct from a warehouse abroad. Here's why our customers choose us instead.

A bike you ride before you buy

Direct-to-consumer e-bikes arrive in a box. Ours arrive after a proper test ride from one of our stores. The bike isn't expensive — the wrong bike is.

A workshop that knows your bike

Authorised by Riese & Müller. Bosch certified. We only service bikes we sell, because we ride them ourselves. Year 1 service is on us.

A team that stays put

Irish-owned and specialising in electric bikes since 2008. The expertise stays with you long after the sale. Try ringing a direct-to-consumer brand on a Saturday.

Honest answers

What people ask us most.

If you're new to e-bikes, here are the ten questions we hear every day — answered honestly.

No. If anything, they're easier than a standard bike — the motor takes the edge off hills, headwinds, and tired legs. Most of our customers say their first 30 seconds on an e-bike is when they decide to buy one. Book a free test ride and feel it for yourself.
Most modern e-bikes give you 40–100 km of real-world range, depending on assist level, terrain, rider weight, and weather. Cargo bikes with bigger batteries (or our DualBattery option) extend this to 160+ km. For most Irish commutes (10–20 km each way), you'll charge every 3–5 days.
Yes — we only stock e-bikes with mid-drive motors (Bosch CX, Performance Line) that handle Wicklow climbs, Cork hills, and west coast wind. We'll match you to a bike based on the routes you actually ride.
Yes. Every e-bike we sell is built for Irish weather — sealed batteries, rust-resistant components, full mudguards as standard on commuter and hybrid models. We'll talk you through proper rain gear too.
Modern Bosch and Bafang batteries last 800–1,000 full charge cycles before noticeable capacity drop — typically 5–8 years of regular use. Replacement batteries are available and supported long-term on every brand we sell.
Use two locks (one D-lock through the frame and rear wheel, one chain through the front wheel and a fixed object). We also stock GPS trackers and specialist e-bike insurance from €5.25/month through our partner Qover.
Yes — we offer finance through Humm (24, 36, 48 or 60 months) on any bike. The Cycle to Work scheme is the most tax-efficient route if you're employed, and the two can be combined.
For a standard e-bike: twice a year on chain & cassette models from 2,000 km, or once a year on Gates Belt Drive models from 3,000 km. Our Standard eBike Service is €120 labour. eCargo bikes have their own tiers. Our workshop is exclusive to GreenAer customers and the brands we sell.
Every e-bike comes with the full manufacturer warranty (typically 2 years on the frame, 2 years on the battery). We support the brands we sell — if there's a problem, we handle it.
We're family-friendly across all three stores. Test rides on cargo and longtail bikes with kids on board are encouraged — that's how you really know if a family bike works for you.

Come and ride one.

Take 30 minutes. Ride out from one of our stores, on the bike that's closest to right, with someone who knows it. No pressure, no commitment, coffee back at the shop.
