Worked example

A €3,500 e-bike.
About €115 a month in year one.

Higher-rate taxpayer. Standard e-bike, so up to €1,500 goes through Cycle to Work. The balance on 36-month Humm finance.

  • · E-bike price: €3,500
  • · Cycle to Work portion: €1,500, repaid from gross salary over 12 months → about €60/month from take-home at the higher rate
  • · Balance: €2,000 on 36-month Humm → about €55/month
  • · Year one: ~€115/month · Years two and three: ~€55/month

Cycle to Work is repaid through your payslip, so it works like 12-month finance on that portion. Prefer not to use Humm? A deposit of around €500 holds the bike, and you pay the balance when your Cycle to Work comes through. Humm figures subject to credit approval; representative APR varies — see Humm for current rates.

Finance questions

Money questions.

Yes — this is the most common setup. Cycle to Work covers the first €1,500 (standard e-bike) or €3,000 (cargo). Humm covers whatever is left, spread over 24, 36, 48 or 60 months.
Often nothing — Humm offers 0% deposit on many e-bike purchases. For larger amounts, a deposit of 10–20% may apply. We'll tell you upfront.
Humm publishes its current rates — representative APR depends on the term you choose. 24- and 36-month terms typically have the lowest. Always ask for the total cost of credit before you sign.
A soft search to begin with. A full credit search happens once you confirm the application. Humm tells you the impact before you commit.
Yes — early repayment is allowed at any time with no penalty. Saves you the remaining interest.
VAT is included in every price. Manufacturer warranty covers the bike normally — finance arrangement doesn't affect your warranty in any way.
For business cargo bikes (Vok, Urban Arrow Pro) we offer leasing terms and direct invoicing — speak to us about a tailored quote.

The numbers add up.

Most people are surprised how affordable a premium e-bike actually is once Cycle to Work and finance are layered together. Come in and we'll do the maths with you.
